indieguerillas Programme Highlights

 

As part of the upcoming Singapore Art Week in January 2017, indieguerillas will be having an array of projects and showcases, aside from their exhibition with Mizuma Gallery.

The events details as follows:

CITIES FOR PEOPLE NTU CCA Ideas Fest 2016/17:

13 Jan 2017, Friday
Various locations at Gillman Barracks, starting point: The Exhibition Hall, Block 43 Malan Road

Performance: Datang Untuk Kembali (Arriving to Return)  by indieguerillas, Lulu Lutfi Labibi, and Ari Wulu

Come hear from the artists on their practice and sharing on the performance Datang Untuk Kembali.

3.30 – 5.00pm
Workshop by Lulu Lutfi Labibi

Based on the idea of transforming the traditional into the “current” and the idea of “upcycling” by transforming by-products of the fashion industry into new materials or better products. Lulu Lutfi Labibi will demonstrate the creation process behind his “Celana Paman” collection, launched in 2011, in which he deconstructed oversized men’s pants and made them into dresses of various styles. In this workshop, participants will be asked to bring unused or unwanted clothings and be introduced to various technique for transforming them into ready-to-wear drapes.

indieguerillas will take part in the public outdoor sculpture project in Gillman Barracks curated by Khairuddin Hori. This project will run until 30 June 2017. There will be free hair trimming service by We Need a Hero on 13 Jan, 6pm – 10pm (first come, first served basis).
This installation will be at the field outside Blk 22 Lock Road, Gillman Barracks
