Mizuma Gallery is pleased to present Circulation, a solo exhibition by Okuda Yuta.

After studying fashion design in Japan and the United Kingdom, Okuda Yuta worked as a designer for several fashion brands. In 2016, he transitioned to becoming an artist and has since been actively participating in solo and group exhibitions both domestically and internationally, building his career through continuous creation and presentation.

Okuda Yuta’s works are composed of astonishingly vivid pigments. His strokes are depicted with vibrant colours, along with the resulting raised textures and the intricate line drawings done with a pen, they captivate the gaze of all viewers. Okuda’s world unfolds, where the spontaneous nature born from blending of paints and the inevitable meticulousness of pen strokes are intertwined.

Featuring over 30 new works by Okuda Yuta, Circulation presents for the first time in Singapore his portrait series and bonsai series, alongside his iconic “flower” series as the centrepiece. Circulation runs from 29 September to 29 October 2023 at Mizuma Gallery, 22 Lock Road #01-34 Gillman Barracks, Singapore 108939. The gallery opens from 11am-7pm on Tuesdays to Saturdays, and 11am-6pm on Sundays. The gallery is closed on Mondays and Public Holidays.

In conjunction with the launch of the exhibition, an artist talk will be held on Friday, 29 September 2023, from 4pm to 5pm, followed with a vernissage in the presence of Okuda Yuta (artist) from 5pm to 7pm. This event is free admission, and is open to public. To register your attendance and to meet the artist in person, please RSVP at info@mizuma.sg by Thursday, 28 September 2023. A digital publication featuring images of the artworks and a note about the exhibition will be available on www.mizuma.sg.
