From Koyasan to Borobudur

Vernissage: Saturday, 16 January 2015, 6-9pm
This two-man exhibition features artworks by Japanese artist Tanada Koji and Indonesian artist Nasirun inspired by their profound spiritual experiences at the Buddhist temple Borobudur in Indonesia and the sacred mountain Koyasan in Japan respectively. Tanada Koji uses the ancient traditional wood carving technique of ichiboku–zukuri and Nasirun employs Javanese shadow puppetry (wayang) to showcase a selection of paintings, sculptures, and installations. link
